After a five-mile run from Concord High School to Carter Hill Orchard Sept. 25, sophomore Collette Brochu, a member of the cross country team, walks from row to row picking apples in addition to eating  cider donuts and participating in autumnal photo shoots. Her favorite part, Brochu said, was ” . . . like the accomplishment at the end of running, because you get donuts and you’re happy about it.” CHS runners competed in Manchester, Connecticut, on Saturday, Oct. 12. Their next local competition takes place Thursday, Oct. 17, at Merrimack Valley, beginning at 4 p.m.
