Writers spook for fun
Victoria Lewis and Grace Parisi are excited about the snacks they’re about to serve at the Writing Club’s first annual horror story event Oct. 24, 2022.
The Writing Club held its first event of the school year Monday, October 24: a Spooooky Story Read Aloud in celebration of Halloween.
Students were invited to share an original story or read from a favorite classic tale.
Also welcome was anybody who just wanted a free snack!
Mia Czarnecki read from her horror story, “Death’s Countdown,” about a man named Eric who craves death: “Death longed to encircle him with slender fingers.”
Grace Parisi read an excerpt from her work in progress, a novel titled Our Parallel Lines.
A recurring quote from her planned trilogy is “To tomorrow and whatever after.”
Carl Sirrianna also read from an original work, a chilling story of a woman taking a stroll down Fruit Street, where, suspiciously, people had recently gone missing.
Advisor Liz O’Neil said new members are always welcome to join the club, which meets every Monday at 3 p.m. in the MAP room opposite W4014.
