Softball headed for state final

Concord High School Varsity Softball players will compete for the NHIAA Division I Championship Saturday, June 11.

Their game against Exeter High School begins at 7 p.m. at Plymouth State University’s D&M Field.

Spectators should park near the PSU Hockey Arena.

Crimson Tide athletes include seniors Grace MacDonald (#4, pitcher/outfielder), Kyleigh Gray (#7, outfielder), Elizabeth Blinn (#10, first base/third base) and Quincy Bolduc (#42, outfielder).

Juniors: Kennedy Craigue (#3, second base/outfielder), Sophie Buteau (#13, catcher), Olivia Crawford (#14, third base/outfielder) and Kryslin Stearns (#15, shortstop/outfielder).

Sophomores: Alison Dupuis (#6, shortstop/second base), Sarah Taylor (#8, pitcher/third base), Maddy Wachter (#11, pitcher/first base) and Delaney Duford (#18, catcher/outfielder).

Freshmen: Brooke Wyatt (#12, shortstop/third base) and Andie Moreira (#19, outfielder/first base).

Also on the roster are Head Coach Duke Sawyer, who is this year’s Division I Coach of the Year, and senior manager Elizabeth Brown.

  • According to @CHSTideSoftball on Twitter, senior Elizabeth Blinn rounds the bases to score, helping Concord enter the finals with an overall record of 17-1. During the June 8 semifinal match against Londonderry she “snagged a foul pop at full speed against the dugout fence” to help the Crimson Tide advance to the finals tournament this Saturday.

  • Sophomore Sarah Taylor earned a seventh inning save during the quarterfinal match against Londonderry June 8 after Maddy Wachter held a six-inning lead.

  • Sophomore Delaney Duford “made a trio of superb catches on foul pops behind the plate” during the June 8 semifinal match against Londonderry, according to @CHSTideSoftball on Twitter. Duford and freshman Andie Moreira “set the table” for a key RBI single by Sarah Taylor.
