NH Chief Justice to visit CHS May 16

Members of Feminism Now! and Strong Women Leaders Club heard an oral argument and toured the New Hampshire Supreme Court Tuesday, May 10.

New Hampshire Supreme Court Chief Justice Gordon J. MacDonald will visit Concord High School Monday, May 16, to speak to Civics and Criminal Justice students about workings of the state’s highest court and careers in the field of law.

His presentation is likely to include a Q&A session with students.

MacDonald’s visit will be the second appearance this spring of a Supreme Court justice at CHS.

Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Gary E. Hicks spoke to the Be the Change Club a few weeks ago about careers in the field of law and diversifying the New Hampshire Bar.

Monday’s visit was arranged by CHS Experiential Learning Coordinator Jessamyn Rockwell in partnership with Dianne Martin, Director of the Administration of the Courts.

CHS Social Studies teacher Becky Tancrede’s Civics students just began their Judicial Branch unit this month. Concord Regional Technical Center Criminal Justice instructor Gail Beaudoin is bringing students as well.
