Rush of events

As the school year comes to a close, schedules grow crowded with events that can be a little hard to keep track of.
Recent weeks have seen the distribution of yearbooks, a New Hampshire State Scholars trip to see the Fisher Cats in Manchester, observance of Memorial Day with a pep rally and parade, and a series of awards ceremonies to honor members of Tri-M, graduates of CRTC programs, and seniors and underclassmen recognized with certificats and scholarhips.
Here are some upcoming dates students and staff should keep in mind:
On June 6, the PTSO will hold an Honor Roll Ice Cream Social in the Gym Foyer during all lunches. This event is to celebrate as well as reward students who achieved 85 or above for their hard work and success in their academics.
Second Start Graduation will take place June 8 in Concord High School’s Auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. Second Start is a non-profit organization that offers a wide variety of programs to improve the well-being of New Hampshire residents. One is an Alternative High School Program for those that have not been able to succeed in the traditional high school setting.
The Spring Concert will be held June 6 in the Concord City Auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. Choir, Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra members will be performing. “I can’t wait to show all that I have learned this year on the violin!” says student, Joanna Dustin. Tickets are $5 at the door.
June 8 marks the last day of classes for seniors.
For everyone else, final exams will take place June 11-15. Exams for pds. 8 and 6 will run on Monday, 7 and 5 on Tuesday, 4 and 2 on Wednesday, 3 on Thursday and 1 on Friday. The first exam slot of every day runs from 7:50 to 9:50. On Monday through Wednesday, students then have a break until the second exam slot begins at 10:15. Students are released at 12:15.  On Thursday and Friday, when students have just one exam slot, students are released earlier unless they choose to stay to makeup a missed exam or otherwise work with a teacher. Make-up slots run until 3 p.m. daily. See teachers for more information.
Graduation Practice will take place June 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Students must attend these practices in order to participate in the actual graduation ceremony.
Senior Trip also takes place June 12, from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. Seniors will again attend the Mount Washington Cruise.
Performing Arts Awards will take place June 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium. People  involved in Concord High School’s performing arts program will be receiving awards for their dedication and outstanding performance.
