Prom dress boutique a success

Prom+dress+boutique+a+success

With prom just around the corner many girls are still trying to find the perfect dress.
A few Concord High School are all set, having taken advantage of a prom dress boutique on April 4 in room E325.
There they selected perfect gowns from a collection of dresses donated by others.
“This year about 10 girls came and they all left with a dress,” said Kristina Peare, a CHS teacher who has helped organize the boutique for several years in a row.
This year Peare lots of dresses for students to choose from.
“I think that the donating part was bigger than the giving away part as we advertised on Crimson Notes and around school. We had a number of students parents and teacher drop off dresses this year,” said Peare. “St. Paul’s donated a lot of dresses to us as well.”
While trend spotting sites such as www.jovani.com are predicting that popular colors in 2018 may include light pink and blush-colored dresses,  CHS students tended to opt for darker hues.
“Let’s see, purple or red . . . I gave a lot of those colored dresses away. Definitely deeper colors this year. Not as many pastel colored dressed went,” Peare said.
It’s not too late for students to take advantage of the collection, she added.
“If somebody still needs to get a dress can they come get one? Yes, absolutely. I will setup a private showing for you.”
Students can contact Peare via e-mail at [email protected].
The collection of dresses continues to grow. Students who wish to donate dresses after this year’s prom can do so. “We will absolutely take them,” said Peare.
