Wimpey played as a substitute for the match against Purple, helping the Concord Parks and Recreation basketball team win 28-4. “That was the third time playing Purple this season, and by the third time, we were confident that we were going to beat them,” said Pragati Pant, another CHS senior. Defeating Purple again enabled Navy Blue to skip playoffs and head straight to the championship match Saturday, March 5, at the Christa McAuliffe Elementary School gymnasium. Navy Blue ended the season undefeated. Wimpey joined the team at the last minute because they didn’t have enough players during vacation week when others were away on, for example, college visits.
