Concord High School girls ice hockey opens its season today with a 3:30 p.m. home game vs. Exeter  at Everett Arena.
Coached by Stacy Bourdrias, who is entering her sixth year as head coach, the team is hoping for a strong season after two years of making it to the playoffs but falling short in the preliminary round each time.
Boudrias is assisted by Dave Bourdrias (4th year) and Sky Stavros (5th year). The team is managed by CHS senior Megan Sweatt, who is returning for her third year in that position.
Last year’s assistant captain, Delana Erickson (#4), is planning to play again this year but with one small challenge. Erickson tore her ACL last spring during her first home lacrosse game of her junior year.
Asked how her injury might affect this hockey season Erickson said she could be a strong captain “by encouraging and taking charge, being positive.” No matter what role she wins on the ice, she said she can “lead by how I deal with things and pressure.”
The 2015/2016 season was a good season for the Tide. The team went 13-0-5 and only lost two seniors, Amandaline Tibbals and Samantha Schechter, to graduation.
This year’s roster includes the following students in addition to Erickson: Madysen Audet (#30), Olivia Branch (#18), Bri Chartier (*#7), Margaret Connolly (#3), Abigail Corbett (#31), Ella Doherty (#22), Erin Doherty (#12), Jillian Dussault (#9), Madelyn Farrelly (#5), Emily Forward (#2), Nicole Jones (#16), Chantelle Levasseur (#8), Gabrielle McDonald (#26), Jaden Morin (#27), Sarah Morin (#17), Allyson Poulin (#14), Shannon Prospert (#28) and Lillian Vezina (#24).
